Kirsten stared out of the window of her office deep in thought. She had to write a small paragraph on something about Sweet Stalker for the Kentucky Derby. She was definitely nervous. She had never had a horse in contention for the highly rare and prestigious Triple Crown. And now her precious Sweetie is a contender. Am I crazy for doing this? No filly has ever won the Triple Crown! She shook her head to clear her thoughts. Now was not the time to have any doubts in her filly. She had always believed that Sweet Stalker would be a great champion. That’s not true! A nagging voice whispered in her ear. Kirsten smiled at the voice. She knew what she was going to write about now. She grabbed the nearest pad of paper and started to write.
Kirsten stopped writing and looked over her paragraph carefully. She had just written it on some lined paper but she supposed that it would be okay. She had never been a good writer. Well, that’s one down. Hopefully, it was what they were looking for as a showcase article. She put her pages off to the side and put her pen down. Now it was time to get back to work.

Kirsten sighed as she sat at her messy desk looking through some of her papers. She must really clean up her desk so that she would actually be able to find something for once. She looked at the clock. It read 3 O'Clock in the afternoon. She had some time to clean her office. This should be interesting...
Two hours later Kirsten sat on the floor with a familiar scrapbook in her hands. It was her "Birth Book 2005" that she created to record the births of the horses on the farm three years ago. Kirsten fingered the precious leather cover. She could remember the day she decided to make it. It was her first year owning a thoroughbred racing facility. She had four or five mares that were pregnant at the time. It would be her first foal crop. She wanted to make sure that everything would be remembered so she decided to make two pages for each foal. One would have a picture of the mare pregnant and a picture of the foal when it would be two weeks old. The second page would be a family tree for each foal. She smiled and opened the book. There were the foal in order of birth: Braveheart, Like A Cheetah, Spooky Fire, Glorious Storm and then finally Sweet Stalker.
Kirsten could still remember the day that her Sweet Stalker had been born. Sweet Melody had been showing serious signs of birthing for about a week and Kirsten was getting worried. Of course it had to happen in the middle of the night in the midst of the worst storm of the season. Kirsten had been kept awake by the howling winds outside her house and the heavy rain that was hitting the window. She sneaked outside to check on Melody and sure enough the mare was down in the straw in labor.
It was the worst 3 hours of labor that Kirsten had ever seen. The foal was just too stubborn to be born. Finally at 11:57pm on Friday the 13th of May Sweet Stalker was born. She was the most gorgeous pure black filly that Kirsten has ever seen. It did not take long for the newborn to be up on her legs suckling. Kirsten had known that day on that Sweetie was going to be a champion.
Not only did she had the courage, strength and potential she also had the genes. At the thought Kirsten flipped the page to look at Sweetie's Family Tree. Her first glance went to Night Stalker, the sire. He was an amazing animal and forever in her mind.
Kirsten closed the book filled with memories. She would show this scrapbook for Sweetie's showcase for the Belmont Stakes. Kirsten tucked the book under her arm and set off to see Night Stalker to show him what a beautiful and talented daughter he had. Sweet Stalker was a filly that no one was ever going to forget.
